Cammie and Ryan’s Mammoth wedding at Forest Chapel was an unforgettable weekend filled with so much love. Their shared connection for the truly magnificent place made it all the more special!
Ryan’s ties to Mammoth run deep as it’s been a cherished family destination for generations. From childhood camping trips filled with storytelling and stargazing to later adventures exploring the stunning mountains and forests with Cammie during their college years, Mammoth has become a central thread in their love story. When it came time to plan their Mammoth wedding weekend, they couldn’t imagine a place more fitting to say, “I do.”
Their wedding ceremony at Forest Chapel was nothing short of magical. The couple said “I do” in a nestled grove of towering trees beside the sparkling lake. The location offered an intimate and breathtaking setting which evoked so much emotion throughout the day. Months prior, Ryan and Cammie scouted this special spot to ensure every element reflected their shared love for nature and each other.
Cammie, a true fashion lover, brought her signature style to the entire wedding weekend. For the rehearsal dinner, she selected a playful yet elegant dress with accessories that added a sense of fun and personality while incorporating the traditional “something blue” with the pattern selected. She knows exactly how to set a joyful tone through her sense of style. On her wedding day, Cammie turned heads in a couture Galia Lahav gown. Intricate beadwork, flowing layers, and exquisite craftsmanship perfectly accentuated her tall frame. The dress was literally made for her!! She described the wedding day as her “grand finale” in the weekend’s fashion roundup, and it was clear she felt confident and radiant.
The couple chose a “first touch” rather than a first look. This offered them an intimate, quiet moment where they stood back-to-back, holding hands against a tree before the ceremony. This heartfelt pause allowed them to connect deeply, sharing a private moment before stepping into the most important day of their lives. When they finally saw each other during the ceremony, emotions ran high…it was stunning to capture. Taylor Swift and Bon Iver songs played softly in the background, perfectly setting the dreamy, emotional tone.
After the ceremony, we ventured to a windswept mountaintop for sunset photos. With 50-mile-per-hour gusts swirling around them, Cammie and Ryan danced in the fading rays of sunshine, embracing the wildness of the moment. It was a stunning reflection of their adventurous spirit, their laughter echoing across the landscape as the sun dipped below the horizon.
Cammie and Ryan’s Mammoth Lake wedding was a perfect blend of nostalgia, elegance, and heartfelt emotion. Their weekend wasn’t just a celebration—it was the continuation of a beautiful story written in a place that has been, and will continue to be, a cornerstone of their lives together.
From a photography standpoint, Ryan and Cammie trusted me completely to photograph their Mammoth wedding weekend in a natural, documentary style. I focused on the organic moments happening before my eyes as friends and family gathered to celebrate these special souls joining. Capturing the sunlight filtered through the trees during the ceremony was spectacular, one moment I will never forget…cheers to the couple!
“They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but Erin’s photos will leave you speechless. If you want photos that actually FEEL like your big day, that remind you of all the joy and love you felt, that capture the tiny beautiful moments you barely even remember yourself, you must hire Erin.
From the day we reached out to her to even now (4 months post-wedding!) Erin has been incredibly communicative, gone FAR above and beyond what you would expect from a wedding photographer, and made us feel like the most special people ever. She may be busy (because she’s the BEST) but you’d never even know it – she’ll give you and your fiancé so much love, attention, support, and of course, incredible photographs to cherish for a lifetime. The only thing that somehow manages to top her friendly, welcoming nature is her pictures. They are undeniably stunning, Pinterest-board worthy, and just plain magical. Seriously, good luck choosing which ones to frame!
From one decision-fatigued bride to the next, allow me to make this big decision for you… your search for the best wedding photographer is over! It’s Erin Marton!” – Cammie & Ryan
