Lauren and Tyler’s La Venta Inn wedding in Palos Verdes was the most romantic late fall celebration. We were graced with breathtaking weather, which was incredible for the time of year. The sunshine and clear skies made for an unforgettable setting, highlighting La Venta Inn’s panoramic ocean views stretching up the coastline from Manhattan Beach to Santa Monica and beyond!
Lauren’s bridal look was the epitome of effortless elegance. She fully embraced the ballerina-core aesthetic. Her combination of delicate jewelry and soft, natural makeup created a look that felt both modern and romantic. Tyler perfectly complimented her timeless style with a classic black tuxedo. Their refined fashion choices added to the sophisticated yet laid-back California vibe of the day.
From the beginning, Lauren and Tyler intentionally chose to make their wedding feel intimate and personal. Instead of packing their schedule with an extensive shot list or overly structured moments, they prioritized time to truly experience their day. I appreciated how they focused on sharing meaningful interactions and being present with family and friends who traveled from all over to show their support.
The historic La Venta Inn wedding venue provided this total dreamlike atmosphere with beautiful architectural details and lush greenery. The views are spectacular! Throughout the day, guests could be seen framed by charming windows, standing at different vantage points, and soaking in the natural beauty that surrounded them. Pure magic!
One of the most touching aspects of the day was Tyler and Lauren’s deeply personal wedding ceremony. Their close friend, who had also been present the day the couple first met, officiated. As you can imagine, his perspective set the tone with a truly heartfelt touch to their ceremony. Their handwritten vows were raw and emotional, capturing the depth of their love and commitment to each other. During the ceremony, as the sun set, the sky turned into a breathtaking display of golden hues. Once the ceremony ended, Lauren and Tyler watched their first sunset as a married couple while I captured some of the most romantic portraits of the day.
Lauren and Tyler envisioned a wedding that felt like an intimate dinner party, and their reception space reflected that effortlessly. With a warm, inviting ambiance, guests mingled during cocktail hour and enjoyed a cozy dining experience. Laughter, heartfelt toasts, and joyful moments filled the evening, leading into an incredibly lively dance floor where all their friends joined in on the celebration. They are also big on dancing and there was certainly no shortage of that as the party started! Lauren and Tyler’s wedding was a beautiful day full of connection and they executed the art of being fully present with the people you love.
Lauren has a deep appreciation for film photography, often documenting her travels and personal memories on film. Naturally, this became a special focus for me throughout their wedding day, adding a nostalgic and artistic element to their gallery of captured moments. When I first spoke with Lauren and Tyler, their love for wedding photos on film inspired me to be creative and take risks to make sure the moments captured would blend an artistic feel with an element of romance, highlighting organic moments throughout the day.
“Erin was absolutely wonderful to work with!! Not only is she professional and organized, but she is also a delight to be around. Her work speaks for itself—she captured the feeling of the day, and most times we hardly even knew she was there! Her pictures turned out BEAUTIFUL, and now I have too many amazing ones to choose from! I honestly cannot recommend her enough. If you’re thinking about booking her—do it!” -Lauren
