Jessica and Josh celebrated their black tie Jewish wedding in Los Angeles, at The Spanish Hills Club. Their wedding celebration was modern, elegant and undeniably classic with a focus on creating a day that was authentically theirs.
From the moment I talked with Jessica and Josh on the phone, it was evident that their connection was something special. The couple had their first date back in October 2021 and shared an instant bond. Josh and Jess have so much in common. They both grew up in the valley of Los Angeles. Each of them come from Jewish families. In their words “they were the missing pieces to each other’s puzzle.” Fast forward to December 2022, Josh sealed the deal with a proposal at Point Dume in Malibu!
The celebration was formal and black-tie, with guests showcasing their fashion moments that added to the overall vibe. For Jessica, who is not only a bride but also an amazing cook and baker, attention to detail was key. Especially the cake! Jessica worked with a local bakery named Sweet Art Bake Shop, and together created the taste and vision she had in mind to make a masterpiece!
The color palette for the day was stunning. Pinks, purples, orange, and blush, brought to life by the talented hands of Fig Event Co. The vibrant florals complemented the overall aesthetic – a mix of black and white with bursts of colorful florals. Wedding planners Jamison and Tania from Jamison Events ensured the logistics ran perfectly so the couple could embrace the experience.
On their wedding day, Jessica and Josh wanted the focus to be on candid moments. For them capturing the genuine joy and love that surrounded them was most important. The ceremony included many Jewish traditions. They had a Ketubah signing, a beautiful nod to their Jewish heritage, and a Tish where family and friends shared heartfelt moments by speaking words to the couple. These cultural components added a unique touch, making the day deeply meaningful. The highlight of the evening was the grand entrance with the hora, a lively dance that had everyone on their feet. And of course, Jessica, known for her love of her martinis, made sure to celebrate with her favorite drink in hand!
Amidst all the elegance, the couple’s priority was to get photos that would tell the story of their day. They especially loved the film photos that captured the essence of the laughter, the fun, and the pure love they shared. I was thrilled to be able to photograph this wedding celebration- while keeping the reflection of their personalities at the forefront. It was such a joyous day and I was so happy to see the couple having the best time of their lives! Cheers to Jessica and Josh, the couple who found the missing piece in each other, and to a lifetime of happiness ahead!
In their words: “My husband and I found Erin because we were wanting photos from our wedding that could capture the many emotions of our big day and the people who matter most to us in a journalistic way. She delivered! From the moment we met her, she took the time and effort to get to know us. She prepared us for what to expect and on the day of, she was a joy to have around. She captured all the little moments in a beautifully artistic way. I would recommend her again and again!” – Jessica and Josh
