The Harper wedding in Orange County for Nicole and Scott was whimsical, joyful, and brimming with sunshine! Beyond just the beautiful scenery and decor, the couple themselves were overflowing with kindness and gratitude all day, making it an absolute dream to photograph them and their families. I am truly fortunate that I was invited to capture it all!
One unique aspect of Nicole and Scott’s wedding was the dried florals they selected as the cornerstone of their decor and aesthetic. Choosing dried florals over fresh allowed them to keep these flowers or give them away as gifts after the wedding which remain a special memory from their day! Dried florals are a great option to prioritize sustainability at your wedding. I have personally never seen dried florals arranged so elegantly, their florist was incredible!
The lighting for Nicole and Scott’s ceremony could not have been better. The Harper is an east-west facing venue which allows for sunlight to stream into the ceremony area. During their ceremony, the couple participated in a unity ceremony with an olive tree. The bride’s parents brought soil from their home, and the groom’s parents did the same. After adding the dirt to the plant, the couple watered the tree to symbolize the growth of their marriage through the years.
Scott and Nicole decided to privately visit their reception area prior to inviting guests to dinner. This calm moment gave them a chance to appreciate all the design and hard work planning in its final form. Their reactions were so pure and sweet!
One of my personal favorite parts of photographing this wedding was prioritizing film pictures. The couple told me prior to their wedding that they love film photos, so I made sure to incorporate these throughout each moment of the wedding. Enjoy!

“Erin is the best wedding photographer on the planet – there I said it. Somebody had to! Working with Erin was THE BEST decision I could have made regarding my May 2022 Orange County wedding (aside from deciding to marry my best friend).
I was looking for a photographer capable of capturing not just beautiful photos. We also wanted to see the preciousness, the intimacy, the candid, and the organic moments that made up our special day. I wanted to make sure whoever we invited into this season of life would be a calm, peaceful presence in what can often be a stressful time.
Needless to say, I was pretty darn selective as I evaluated photographers. Erin was the only one who could deliver the kind of soul-capturing vibe I longed for while being an absolute blast to work with. Her photos capture the emotion, light, and love that actually happened, not the orchestrated “perfect shot.”
Erin never had to tell us to “do that again!” She captured each moment as it unfolded. Erin has an eye for the small, yet extraordinary moments most people overlook. It is pure magic. I look back at my wedding photos with both a smile and tears. I know each image was so real and so raw, despite how fairytale-like they look.
If you’re looking for a wedding photographer with effervescent, infectious joy, who can also capture the best day of your life in all its natural beauty, your choice is simple. Erin is a blessing and I hope she’s available for your wedding day when you call. :)” – Nicole + Scott
