ALL THE HEART EYES for this stunning Smoky Hollow Studios Wedding from earlier this spring that I second-shot for Sloane Photo! Seriously WOW, you guys. Shannon is such an incredible photographer, and I’m soooo honored that I got to work alongside her for such an elegant day!
We started off the day at a hotel nearby the venue for some fun getting ready pics of the gals & guys! Featuring champagne and lacy robes, DUH 😉 I also got to watch my girl Shannon absolutely KILL IT at some detail shots, including the gorgeous flat-lay you’ll see as the beginning image for the blog. She’s a master!
After getting ready pics, we headed over to Smoky Hollow Studios. This venue is typically used as a coworking space and event venue here in Los Angeles! It was really cool to see it completely come to life with gorgeous flowers and little personalized touches for each guest. While the team was setting up for the wedding, we photographed Jade (the bride) slipping into her sleek, modern wedding dress designed by Sarah Seven. LIKE WOW WHAT A BABE! The upstairs getting ready space has the perfect hipster LA vibes complete with a kitchenette and tons of comfy chairs and couches! There were also tooonnss of big windows which is obviously every photographer’s dream.
Jade + Yevin’s first look was SO gentle and sweet. I loved watching them be so dang cute together as they soaked into the moment, their first time being together that day. I will say, Jade’s veil was a little less than cooperative on this windy day, and it even completely took off at one point! Oops hehe. After bride and groom pics, bridal party, and family, it was TIME for the ceremony.
The ceremony moments we got to witness were absolutely perfect. From their heartfelt, handwritten vows to the laugher that filled the room (gotta say, that officiant was on it with the zingers!), I felt super honored to witness them joining lives as husband and wife.
As the ceremony wrapped up, we got ready for dinner!!! In my opinion, one of the coolest things about this wedding was the bride and groom’s decision to have everyone sit side by side at long wooden tables, eating family-style. LIKE WHOA! I’ve never actually seen this done before, but it worked out really well and created a very warm and friendly atmosphere for all the guests. The lights dimmed, toasts were cheered, and the dance floor opened.
LET ME JUST SAY! I have never seen a dance floor like this! The guests. were. LIT! The music was loud and the drinks kept coming! It was awesome experiencing all that energy 🙂
All said and done, this was such a special day that I’m stoked to look back on. Major thanks again to Shannon for bringing me along for this day!!! <3
