Libby and Garrett’s Quail Ranch wedding weekend combined whimsical design, colorful florals, and intentional moments of connection with their guests to create the perfect celebration of their start to married life.

Our stylish bride opted for three bespoke Monique Lhuillier wedding dresses throughout the wedding weekend. For the rehearsal dinner to welcome guests, she chose a pink mini dress with puffy sleeves that perfectly matched the color of the sunset that evening.

On the wedding day, her gown in pale pink cascaded downward in draped layers. The wedding veil added a touch of whimsy with embroidered butterflies and flowers that mimicked the surrounding nature at Quail Ranch. Libby is a playful dreamer, so this fashion-forward choice made so much sense. She looked like a Disney princess and spent the morning giggling with the two adorable flower girls.

For the final look, she changed into a white cocktail dress with flower detailing and appliqué. Each dress suited her personality and corresponded seamlessly with the venue. In a sense, her dresses were an integral part of the wedding theme and design. It truly felt like the bride was a piece of living art on her wedding day!

The Quail Ranch venue in Simi Valley, CA offers a private, luxurious location for couples to get married outdoors. A true hidden gem, this property is family-owned and operated. Thoughtfully laid out, professionally serviced, and easily accessible, there are so many benefits to a Quail Ranch wedding.

From a visual standpoint, I noticed that the light was very flattering offering soft sun rays through the trees, speckled lighting in the afternoon, and a shady courtyard for ceremony with the dramatic staircase. Native plants and mature thread their way through the lush lawns and stone pathways making the environment feel like a secret garden on a classic California-style ranch. Libby and Garrett chose an opportune location for their wedding, and it was such a pleasure to photograph.

Libby and Garrett approached wedding planning with Sarah from Kindred Weddings & Events by thoughtfully considering how they wanted to experience their day together. Starting with a first look so they could spend the majority of their wedding side-by-side really set the tone for a romantic and entwined memory from the day. They explored the venue hand in hand, taking in all the details and design elements that finally came to life.

For ceremony, the couple chose to enter and process down the aisle together, symbolizing the life they have already built and will continue to grow in the years to come. This deviation from tradition was particularly powerful. Guests cheered as the couple entered ceremony together; everyone was so excited to see these two exchange vows! During reception, Garrett and Libby cut into a red velvet cake from a local Los Angeles bakery they both cherish. The fun vibrant color was really the cherry on top of a lively party!

Libby and Garrett took great efforts to spend the maximum amount of time mingling with their guests. From joining cocktail hour directly after ceremony to quickly eating dinner so they could visit each table and hug their loved ones, it was clear that the people invited to this wedding all meant so much to the couple and each other. The whole day felt like an extended reunion! With plenty of little ones running around, the energy ran high at the party. The kids kept the adults dancing all night under the full moon.

The couple worked closely with Sarah from Kindred to create a playful design that showcased delicate blooms and colorful candles. Textural elements like the napkins, ribbed votives, stone vessels, and individually sourced water goblets tied it all together. The ground arch for ceremony surrounded the couple with color and joy as they shared vows. One big takeaway from this wedding was seeing the level of cohesion and connection between the design and the venue! Seeing the bright and happy tables capes underneath the oak trees at sunset just made sense.
