Mark + Ireland were SO much fun to hang out with for their Irvine engagement photos!!! I’ve known these two for a few years now since we were all in a community group together at our church. 🙂 They have a great sense of humor, impeccable fashion sense, and a deep deep love for coffee. So deep that they’re hosting their wedding this fall IN A COFFEE SHOP in San Diego!! I’m seriously beyond thrilled to be a part of their wedding vendor team to help celebrate them and make sure it’s the best day ever!!!

Our location for this engagement session ended up being absolutely PERFECT! The crazy thing was…I went to Quail Hill only a month or two prior to shooting with these two, and it was completely different. Back in February/March, the hills were covered in short green grass, making Irvine almost look a little like Ireland! When we went back in April for Mark + Ireland’s photos, we found 6 foot tall mustard flowers covering the trails! Seriously so stunning AND fun considering Mark wore a yellow shirt 😉

A few of my favorite little corners that we used throughout this shoot were actually very very small areas nearby the restrooms or ugly grates in the ground. I swear, if necessary, I can make one tree look like a whole forest! Sometimes it feels really weird having your photographer lead you to a tiny little area all while claiming “I PROMISE IT WILL LOOK GREAT!” But then later…the final result says it all! I really like to push myself to still make beautiful photos even if there are a few weird aspects about the spot we’re shooting, and the light in these little corners was perfect.

Before we got together to shoot, I suggested bringing along champagne and glasses….they LOVED the idea! We had so much fun enjoying a moment of total celebration and fun to honor their engagement! I’m incredibly honored to be their photographer for this fun engagement and wedding season, and I am so so excited for Ireland and Mark! Can’t wait for their coffee wedding….coming soon 😉
