This Hornblower Cruise wedding in San Diego was full of color, romance, and of course the stunning SoCal coastline!
Christina and Josh flew all the way to California from their home Ann Arbor, Michigan to celebrate their destination wedding day in San Diego. This couple is all about experiences. Instead of having a traditional wedding, they opted for an unforgettable weekend away in California with their family and closest friends. Beyond just the wedding day, they wanted to share Southern California with their loved ones.
Knowing that Christina and Josh love the beach, I had a feeling that Sunset Cliffs would be the perfect spot for their wedding photos. After their ceremony on a cliff overlooking the ocean, we all hopped into a party bus. This was a last minute decision, but it definitely paid off. When we arrived at Sunset Cliffs, Christina and Josh were absolutely thrilled. They had never gotten to see this gorgeous area of coastline before! I could hardly believe my eyes as we were taking photos. They were so sweet, so in love, and so beautiful.
Being on board the Hornblower Cruise wedding in San Diego was incredibly unique. Despite photographing over 100 weddings at this point, I’ve never experienced a wedding on a boat before! It was such a smooth ride, and it gave us a stunning view of the skyline at sunset.
Josh and Christina are truly thoughtful people. Every aspect of their wedding was with their guests in mind. Overall, I feel incredibly lucky they chose me to photograph their wedding day! Easily the saddest part of saying goodbye was knowing they would be heading back to Michigan. Fingers crossed they move to California one day!

“I feel like I hired my best friend to take our wedding pictures! Erin is magical! We have over 1,000 pictures in our gallery and I love every single one of them, I did not know this was even possible.
I met Erin on Instagram after we had a bit of a fiasco with our first wedding photographer we hired (which did not work out). Erin was so understanding of our situation with us having to change our wedding date due to Covid and this being a destination wedding. She kept in touch with us throughout the whole wedding planning process, got to know us via social media and showed us how much she cared about us as her clients and friends!
Erin went and scoped out our ceremony site and even sent me pictures and videos since we had not seen it in person either. She made sure to ask us what exactly we wanted captured on our wedding day. She was always available throughout the process, and honestly, I did not have to ask her much because Erin knows exactly what she is doing!
Our wedding day finally arrived and Erin, showed up with the best energy and got straight to work, after a hug of course. She spent the entire day with us, captured the most beautiful memories and was so much fun to be around. I wish Erin could be my hype girl every single day. The best decision we made during the planning process was hiring Erin. I would do it again. She seriously brought even more joy and laughter to our day and I loved getting to spend It with her and Vanessa.
We have stunning, fun, candid, silly, romantic pictures that we now get to enjoy for a lifetime. Thank you times a million for capturing our day and being one of the kindest people we have ever met!”
