Emilee and Jeff celebrated their European-inspired wedding at the Harper in Orange County. It was probably the most emotional (in the best way possible) wedding I have captured. Raw and genuine, but centered on joy. They were surrounded by all of their loved ones, and together they did not hold back on their feelings. It was just so apparent that Emilee and Jeff are meant for each other.
Emilee and Jeff met back in summer 2020 when things were starting to reopen for a bit. The couple met at a bar while watching a Dodger game. They had some mutual friends and when they all met up, Jeff asked her for her socials and later they began to date! They both grew up in Orange County. She grew up in the Newport area, and he grew up in Irvine so they immediately were able to bond over familiarity despite not knowing each other as kids. The couple mentioned that they felt like much of their story felt like the invisible string theory; it felt so powerful that their paths crossed.
In 2022, Jeff proposed to Emilee at a park where they loved going on walks and picnics. Jeff took her along a “scavenger hunt” through all their favorite places, and with her friends by her side, they read letters along each stop that he wrote to her. When retelling this story, I could see how intentional and joyful their relationship is. After getting engaged, they moved to several places including Texas where Emilee finished grad school. These two accomplished so much in only a short time of knowing each other, and it definitely set the scene for their future.
On the morning of their wedding, Emily got ready at her parents’ house in Costa Mesa. Seeing her light up in such a familiar place made the experience feel even more special. It’s always meaningful seeing folks get ready in their family homes, knowing they will forever have this memory along with all the other childhood memories when they visit! Capturing Emilee enjoying her champagne surrounded by gal pals having a ball was a blast! In fact, she was the belle of the ball!!!
This wedding had no shortage of personal and intricate details. It was truly so beautiful from top to bottom. The couple wanted to lean into a European feel design- mainly inspired by Italy. It was very whimsical with cottagecore elements. Lots of florals that were stunning, courtesy of Mauve Roots. Her dress was also very classic yet dramatic – she totally exuded Elizabeth James vibes with the big satin bow and her super cute veil!
The ceremony was full of emotion as we all watched Emilee and Jeff embrace the moment. The groom’s father acted as officiant for Emilee and Jeff’s wedding ceremony which made the experience all the more special. As a pastor, he led the ceremony and also helped them throughout their premarital counseling. He was very supportive and involved with unifying them as a couple. During their personal vows, both the bride and groom couldn’t hold back their tears. Most of the audience had damp cheeks too as we all listened to their heartfelt commitments and reflections of love for each other.
Emilee opted for the most chic outfit change at reception with this cute little bubble dress and short veil! While it was playful, it also just added a touch of her personality. Staying on theme with her bows and classy silhouette, she really added sweet and unique features to her ensemble and decor.
The couple was so easy to love- I really adored them and their guests. It was heartwarming to see how present everyone was throughout all the festivities. Everyone seemed very connected and excited for this to be taking place. I also noticed that people were off their phones and really living in the moment and engaged in the festivities!! The couple was showered with love. I feel so happy to have connected with Jeff and Emilee through a former precious client. What an honor to capture all the small and big moments on their wedding day. They were so genuine and kind!
“Erin Marton was the first vendor my husband and I booked for our wedding, and she made a tremendous impact on our planning process. Despite being in Texas and planning a wedding in California, Erin’s support and guidance made us feel confident and eased our overwhelming feelings. She took the time to call us and truly understand our story and vision for the big day. When we were in town, she went the extra mile by meeting us, treating us to coffee, and assisting us in curating an outstanding photography timeline and shot list. We were immensely grateful to have her expertise as we were clueless about the process.
On the wedding day itself, Erin arrived in the morning to capture the getting ready photos, radiating an incredible attitude and genuine joy. She became our “hype woman,” and together with my bridesmaids, we had an absolute blast during the fun shots. Erin captured the essence of our friendship, beautifully. Throughout the first look and sunset photos, she made us feel completely at ease, offering direction when needed while also capturing candid moments flawlessly. The balance between guidance and capturing genuine emotions was perfect.
Erin’s exceptional organizational skills and efficiency truly stood out, especially when it came to our extensive family. She seamlessly coordinated the details we had prepared and confidently led the family, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone involved.
Lastly, we cannot speak highly enough of the film element that Erin added to our wedding day photos. She perfectly captured our aesthetic in both the digitals and film with such STYLE. We are absolutely in love with our wedding day photos, and we (and everyone involved on our wedding day) enthusiastically recommend Erin to everyone. She will undoubtedly be the best vendor you can have on your special day.”
