Adam and Jane’s beautiful backyard wedding in Los Angeles was lush and incredibly personal. They incorporated their traditional Jewish heritage along with their love for the outdoors to create their ideal wedding at Adam’s childhood home. As a couple, they both shared many memories in the home as well as dates in the backyard, making it the perfect venue choice.
Adam and Jane’s romance blossomed in the heart of Los Angeles, where they first connected over their shared passions on Hinge. They both love the outdoors and as you read on you see this theme come into play for them! As Jane tackled law school and Adam pursued his photography, their love grew, deeply rooted in the city they called home. Choosing to marry at Adam’s childhood home was a nod to their beginnings—at one point, they both lived with Adam’s parents, so naturally the wedding had an extra layer of importance to them.
One major benefit of getting married at the family home… the couple’s cat Ashley got to join the morning festivities!
The property is beautiful and nestled in the valley of Los Angeles. It is very lush and green and includes a ton of nature. They both love to spend time outdoors so it was important to incorporate organic elements on their big day. Adam and Jane chose to celebrate their wedding at his family’s home because they wanted all their guests to experience the natural beauty complete with trees stretching over the long driveway and spring flowers sprouting throughout the landscaping. They were so happy to host their loved ones in this big, green backyard!
On the day of the wedding, there was a major downpour—the rainiest wedding I’ve ever seen! Jane and Adam knew rain was forecasted, so they decided to tent a few days prior, which was such a smart decision given the big storm. While it rained the entire day, everyone had the most incredible time and kept a really positive and upbeat attitude. I didn’t hear a single complaint from wedding guests, everyone smiled and pulled out their umbrellas when needed. after all, rain is considered good luck on a wedding day, especially during a ceremony! 🙂 Everyone fully embraced the ambience of the spring showers. During the ceremony, the rabbi even paused to allow everyone to hear the pitter-patter sound of the rain, and it was so unique and powerful. Quite the experience!
Incorporating their Jewish heritage, Jane and Adam’s wedding was rich with tradition. The ceremony took place under a beautifully embroidered chuppah, a canopy that symbolizes the home the couple will build together. This wasn’t just any chuppah; it was adorned with a linen cloth which was actually a thoughtful family heirloom embroidered with the names of married family members, newly including Adam and Jane. It was such a special detail and an ode to their families. In addition, Adam added a personal touch by including pinecones he’d collected from the Angeles National Forest, weaving pieces of their adventures into the decor and further personalizing the day.
The reception under the stars and raindrops was unforgettable! The couple and their guests danced the hora and played a parachute game, a playful tradition that saw Adam and Jane lifted high on a sheet, adding an element of fun to the evening festivities. The dance floor was alive with energy, proving that a little rain only enhanced the joy. I loved seeing all the guests come together to have a dance party!
Photographing Adam and Jane’s backyard wedding in Los Angeles was incredibly special. The blend of personal touches, heartfelt traditions, and the natural beauty of this Los Angeles home in the valley made for picture-perfect moments. I was so happy to capture their love story in this heartfelt home.
