Taylor + Larisa opted for adventurous Angeles National Forest Engagement photos when I asked them where they wanted to shoot their pictures! I was stoked they chose this spot because it’s quiet, remote, and completely beautiful. Together, we explored, watched a sunset, drank some ginger beer, and laughed a whole lot. 🙂
Tay + Larisa are sooo in love, and it was freaking adorable watching them interact with each other! They genuinely did not stop laughing for even a minute, and we were together for 2 hours!!! Prior to our session, these two warned me that they were worried about looking awkward in front of the camera, but all those nerves disappeared super quick when they just enjoyed hanging out together and let me occasionally give them a few prompts while I snapped away.
An engagement session is really an experience. It’s a time for you to get to know your wedding photographer and make sure it’s as good of a fit as you hoped! It’s a time to practice for what it will feel like taking photos on your wedding day. It’s also an amazing opportunity to mark a season of time in your life that hopefully you never want to forget. I love looking back on our engagement photos, and it’s even cooler to me that we accidentally took our engagement photos less than 7 miles from our first newlywed home together! What!
Every time I talk with a couple about the location for their pictures, one of the biggest elements I bring up is whether or not they want the location to be private. Los Angeles is a busy place, and while shooting in downtown gives this amazing, urban feel to photos, it’s definitely got a lot of people around who will be watching while we’re doing photos! Escaping somewhere like the Angeles National forest for engagement photos is a really smart way to both enjoy a beautiful place and feel much more at ease with only one pair of eyeballs on you two. Seriously, there was almost nobody up in the forest with us, and I think it allowed the 3 of us to really connect and enjoy the time together! Highly recommend!
I absolutely love photographing engagement photos in Los Angeles and Orange County, and I would love to photograph yours! Hope you enjoy these pics, and don’t forget to get in touch if you want to chat more about working together! xo
