Meredith and Will’s summer camp inspired Pine Rose wedding was truly one for the books! This fun loving pair envisioned a celebration full of colorful, whimsical elements way up in the mountains and trees to evoke that childlike summer camp joy in all of their wedding guests. As an Orange County wedding photographer, I was absolutely thrilled to document this lively party!

Pine Rose Wedding Ceremony

Can we start by talking about one of my favorite parts of the day? The wedding ceremony! A Pine Rose wedding ceremony takes place in an amphitheater surrounded by trees. In the center aisle, vines cover the walkway creating a fairytale-like atmosphere for the grand entrance and processional. The sunlight was filtering softly through the trees. The couple cried happy tears sharing their personal vows. As a comedian, Meredith did not disappoint with a few well-timed jokes sprinkled into a meaningful speech. This entire wedding was very family-oriented. Will’s brother in law officiated the wedding ceremony which felt particularly special since he knows the couple so well and could share tons of personal anecdotes.

A Summer Camp Wedding Theme

Meredith and Will truly thought of every detail to make their summer camp inspired Pine Rose wedding come to life. Meredith opted for bridesmaids dresses in a range of pastel hues and chose colorful florals to match. Her flower girl wore a flower crown with trailing ribbons down her hair. In the morning, the wedding parties got ready in wood cabins adjacent to the ceremony site which definitely contributed to a more classic, rustic feel. Meredith chose a stunning bridal look that included puffy sleeves and a veil that perfectly crowned her blonde curls.

The venue set the scene for a mountain getaway. Exposed beams, a bridge over the small stream, and towering pines all created a summer camp vibe. Crystal chandeliers strategically placed throughout reception offered a touch of elegance to the dinner party. Oh, and the cake! Hand frosted pastel flowers added a little childlike whimsy that was memorable and sweet.

Film Photography at a Pine Rose Wedding

As a film wedding photographer, I found this Pine Rose wedding to be the perfect location with a sense of nostalgia already present. Film photos feel distinctly like childhood to me since my entire childhood was photographed on film (yup, millennial clocking in). Photographing a summer camp inspired wedding on film felt completely natural and appropriate. Between unplanned, candid moments of couples together on the dance floor to atmospheric, scene setting shots of the crowd from a distance, I found myself reaching for the analog cameras over and over to emphasize how it felt to be at Meredith and Will’s wedding.
