Sophie + Kade and I had SO MUCH FUN doing their Portland engagement photos at Hoyt Arboretum + Lewis and Clark College!! This is actually part 1 of my engagement session with them since it took place over the span of a few days while I was out in Portland for the weekend with them!!

It’s honestly a CRAZY story how this engagement session even happened. Sophie and I met way way back when we were about 7 years old on a soccer team together. Our families lived close so we got to hang out fairly often. I have childhood memories of us baking cookies together and having sleepovers at each other’s houses!! Around high school, we kind of lost touch…years passed and in January 2019, I noticed I had a new follower on Instagram – Sophie!! She found me again thanks to the Internet and decided to hit me up. I saw they had just gotten engaged and had to reach out!! Just a few months later, and I was out in Portland for their engagement photos.

I seriously could not have asked for a better experience with these two. They were such incredibly kind hosts making sure I was well fed, had fresh towels, and slept comfortably in their guest room. Obviously they also have the sweetest labradoodle named Cedar, and he made everything extra fun and cuddly! Sophie + Kade are full of laughter and joy, so they made taking photos very easy 😉

The first few spots we went in Portland were the waterfront to see the cherry blossoms, Hoyt Arboretum for a little hike, and finally the Lewis and Clark campus where they met and both went to school! I felt like I got a special tour of Portland that included places they love and frequent, so it made their photos even more personal and special 🙂

Thank you so much to Sophie and Kade for trusting me and being so excited to do these engagement photos!! I’m thrilled that everyone is so happy with the results (myself included), and I am genuinely so thrilled for these two and their special bond. Can’t wait for them to move back to OC so we can hang out all the time!!!
