When COVID-19 forced them to downsize, Sophie and Kade still chose to celebrate their union with these gorgeous Newport Beach wedding photos.
The big day was planned for March 2020. Sadly, everything came to a screeching halt when the entire world started shutting down for this pandemic! Sophie and Kade married in their family member’s backyard with just immediate family in attendance. Looking back, they’re still so happy they were able to get married that day, even if it looked a little different than originally planned.
About a year prior, Sophie and Kade actually flew me out to Portland to photograph their engagement pictures! We had a blast that weekend exploring together and hanging with their dog Cedar. Sophie and I have actually known each other since we were kids when we met on soccer team. It’s so fun getting to reconnect as adults and celebrate all these special moments for her and Kade!
Sophie and Kade moved to Southern California after their wedding day. It was just a matter of time before we shot more photos together. This time around, Sophie wanted to have some pictures of them in their wedding clothes to remember the day. I’m truly so honored to get to photograph them over and over, they really are such fun and lovely people to be with!
To create a setting that felt personal to them, Sophie and Kade chose their apartment and a nearby park where they originally wanted to get married as their locations for the shoot. This led to natural, in-the-moment captures that feel so real, partly because of where we were.
Looking to have re-do wedding photos taken of you? Here’s my best advice.
“Erin has blown us away again! We first hired her in April 2019 to do our engagement photos in Portland, and then hired her again this September to do belated wedding photos. She helped us re-live our wedding day 6 months after the fact, and we had so much fun doing it! Erin was professional, friendly, creative, and so flexible with what we wanted. She had so many ideas, and made my wife’s veil toss photo dreams come true! She delivered our photos quickly, and communicated with us throughout the entire process – from booking to gallery delivery. Erin is such a genuinely kind person, and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, even if you’ve never done it before. She makes the whole experience so enjoyable and fun – definitely hire her if you want stunning photos to look back on (you’ll have wonderful memories of taking the photos too)!”
