Emma and Cole’s colorful Parker Palm Springs wedding combined playful design and untraditional scheduling to celebrate with a relaxed, full weekend affair.

California Wedding Day magazine featured this wedding in their winter/spring 2026 print edition!

The first time I met Emma and Cole was during their proposal at the Hotel Del in Coronado. Effervescent, joyful, dynamic – these two immediately captured my heart with their sense of fun and playful attitude to life. The proposal itself was a full weekend celebration. Cole had planned tons of surprises for Emma including flying out their closest friends and family to be present for the big moment. He knew that it would be important for Emma to have their sweet golden retriever Honey there to celebrate, so Cole even arranged for their pup to run out for the proposal with the ring box attached to her collar!

After the proposal, Cole had also planned for everybody to get together in one of the private cottages along the beachfront for a sit-down dinner with a private chef and later a chance to gather around the fire and have a toast.
The first day of the weekend at their Parker Palm Springs wedding involved a plated, al fresco rehearsal dinner before the welcome cocktail party began. Amazing food and drinks anchored every experience with their guests – a common theme with this hospitable pair! Rehearsal dinner allowed the wedding party and family to share thoughtful toasts (jokes encouraged) and enjoy some one-on-one time with Emma and Cole. For the welcome party, guests enjoyed live jazz music and drinks while everyone had the chance to pet Honey, the guest of honor.

Emma and Cole are self proclaimed “hotel people,” and this definitely guided their decisions with both the proposal celebration and the wedding weekend. Not only do Emma and Cole love hotels, they love hotels that feel fancy, chic, and design-forward. These two love a pop of color, and that made the Parker Palm Springs the obvious choice for their spring wedding weekend.

The welcome drinks on Pétanque Court revolved around a circle yellow and white striped bar at the center of the grounds. The unconventional bar arrangement made it easy for guests to order drinks and created a seamless flow of traffic. We love a functional and fashionable design choice! Luxurious velvet lounges and bistro seating dotted the rest of the courtyard, allowing guests to mingle effortlessly.

On their custom wedding invitation suite, Emma and Cole encouraged guests to come dressed in funky patterns, bright colors, and a variety of textures! The guest fashion at this wedding was GOOD! Very Palm Springs appropriate. Everyone got the memo.

Opting to purely use poppies for their wedding flowers was a bold choice. In hotter weather, I’m not certain it would have worked. But this couple had absolutely stunning weather, and the delicate blooms really made a statement. Playful, whimsical, bright – the flowers became a focal point on the tables along with the twisted candles and modern vases.

As a film photographer for Palm Springs weddings, I was really looking forward to this colorful wedding weekend at the Parker Palm Springs. The combination of vibrant colors and bright sunlight did not disappoint aesthetically! As I walked around the property, I noticed tons of small corners and vignettes that really captured the vibe of the atmosphere visually.

In addition, Emma and Cole set the tone for film photography to shine at their wedding. This couple maintains a relaxed and open-minded approach to life which also guided their wedding planning process. They prioritized breathing room and space in the schedule to be present and involved. A slower pace encouraged me to photograph most of their wedding on film since the moments happened naturally right before my eyes without an extensive shot list that needed to referenced. Getting ready at the Gene Autry House also provided the perfect iconic wedding day location to shoot film. I’m convinced film photography at weddings in Palm Springs couldn’t be more relevant to the architectural style and history of the area!
