Jessica + Andrea were the PERFECT couple for this fun Downtown Santa Ana couples session!!! I got to hop on board this fun lil collab with two of my favorite photographer friends, Marissa Elaine Photo and Clarisse Rae! A friend of mine helped me put together these gorgeous flower bouquets (well, I think they look gorgeous hehe), and Clarisse brought a confetti canon and heart sparklers from Broadway Bridal!

Jessica + Andrea have been married for a year now, and it was so cool to hear a little bit about the two of them. From these pics alone, you can tell they have the best sense of style! They’re also so gentle and sweet with each other. They were flexible and had great attitudes about the whole experience, even when we had a little confetti canon misfire 😉

Let me tell ya a little more about this shoot. First of all, Clarisse completely came through on location. She directed us to this amazing rooftop that was pretty empty at the end of the work day! It might have taken 15 mins extra after making one wrong turn because of all the one way streets in this town (SMH, Santa Ana) buuuut it was worth it. Once we trekked up with all our stuff, we were stoked to find out that Jessica + Andrea actually brought a second outfit change – white furry jacket and all!! We love a good rooftop parking lot outfit change (sorry y’all). We played Lizzo for the entire session and yelled “KISS KISS KISS” at these two probably 30 times.

Every once in awhile, it’s really good to get out and do something a little different. For me, that means creating and shooting because I genuinely love it. It’s good to remember why I started this business – for love! And for creating fun, interesting photos that make me (and others) happy. What a perfect way to experiment and just kick it with a group of amazing women.

LAST THING. Props. are. key. If you’re someone who doesn’t feel very comfortable in front of the camera, I get it. My husband HATES getting our photos taken! Sometimes, a good way to leave tension behind and make you feel better is to get a few props involved. Sparklers, champagne, flowers…all these are perfect things to add in that can make for fun little activities while also serving the purpose of making you more relaxed. 🙂 I’m alwayyyys open to ideas, so feel free to hit me with em if our session is coming up!! <3
