Rachel + Riley were the perfect couple for this Big Bear adventurous elopement styled shoot. They were rolling with the punches the entire time! The whole day was a little crazy with some traffic we encountered, scouting the perfect backdrops for photos, and me accidentally locking our car keys in the trunk and frantically calling AAA (I PROMISE THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE! lol).
Let me just explain myself for a sec here…my memory card filled up, so I went back to the car to grab another one. My photographer friend Amy who planned this shoot with me left her keys in a little bag on top of her trunk. I grabbed the bag, unlocked the car, dropped the bag in the trunk, grabbed a new memory card, and slammed the car trunk without thinking. WHOOPS. To be fair…my car is one of those that’s super hard to lock and NEVER locks when you leave the keys inside, so I had noooo clue what would happen when I left her keys in the trunk. ahhhhhh not my finest moment…but a good learning lesson 😉
Thankfully everything worked out, and Rachel + Riley were incredibly flexible and fun throughout our adventure together. There’s something really special about getting a couple out in nature and exploring together – I don’t know how to explain it, but it feels really magical when you’re up for anything and encounter straight up gold (like the light in some of the later photos). I can’t wait to do more things like this soon! Thank you so so much to these two for being generous with their time and being so excited to hang out with us for a day!
Don’t worry…made sure to take everybody to In N Out after AAA got our car unlocked so they would still like me 😉
