I promise to always back up my images

The #1 question I recommend every couple getting married asks their photographer is: "How do you backup our photos to make sure they are safe?"

I photograph weddings on a camera with 2 memory card slots, creating a duplicate of each image automatically. At the end of the night, photos are backed up to 2 additional external hard drives + 1 cloud-based location.

+ I PROMISE TO ALWAYS BACK UP my IMAGES

Inquiries receive responses within 1-2 hours. All other emails receive responses within 12-24 hours. I am also available for scheduled phone calls or FaceTime calls to answer questions.

One of the most common fears people have about hiring a photographer is, "I'm worried about what to do in front of the camera." I get it, cause S A M E. During photos, we play music while I give you specific invitations and prompts to interact with each other so the experience (and the photos) feels natural and fun. I've got you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answer: YES! Engagement sessions are not just warm-up runs for us to get used to each other before the wedding. They are a pause in the wedding planning process. It’s a day for you to slow down, remember why you chose this person, and celebrate your connection. I recommend taking the day to relax and be together, to soak it all in before you even arrive for photos. Lots more info and resources available to you as we start planning yours!

Should we have an engagement session?

Two

A second shooter is an assistant photographer who works with me to photograph your wedding day. I only welcome seasoned second photographers who are extremely proficient both technically and stylistically to photograph your wedding day. It’s like having me in two places at once (very convenient if you and your partner are getting ready in separate locations, have a large guest list with many to photograph, etc). I highly recommend all couples hire both me and a second shooter, but we can decide if it's right for you.

What is a second shooter, and do we need one?

Three

Good news: You can have me for as many hours as you want! No two weddings are the same. At minimum, I require wedding clients to book me for 7 hours to accurately receive full coverage of your wedding day. You may need a photographer for 12 hours if you have a long wedding day or want rehearsal dinner coverage. When we hop on the phone, we can walk through a sample timeline of your day to see how many hours you need a photographer. For elopements, collections begin at 5 hours.

How many hours should we book you?

Four

50-75 photos per hour of coverage. I guarantee a minimum of 500 photos for 8 hours of coverage. Often, more are delivered - I don't hold back! I send every usable image to you (excluding only duplicates or photos where someone is blinking/chewing/not looking their best).

How many photos do we get?

Five

Oh gosh yes. Almost every couple says they’re nervous about photos. A big part of the process is getting to know each other. Everything is less awkward when there’s already been some vulnerability and ice-breaking. I create a safe space during our time together by asking you questions and providing you with invitations to interact with one another and hold each other in a way that feels natural and comfortable. One of my biggest strengths is putting you at ease - check out my reviews to confirm!

We’re nervous about being in front of the camera, any tips?

Six

Absolutely, yes. Please only hire a photographer who carries insurance, for all our sakes! My gear is insured, too. Happy to provide proof of insurance to your venue upon request!

Do you have liability insurance?

Seven

Your full wedding gallery will be delivered within 30 days. Sneak peeks usually arrive 1-2 days after the wedding, because who likes waiting? (not me)

When do we get our photos back?

Eight

Ahh, editing. I edit to ensure lighting is spot-on and the colors are looking vibrant/true to what we saw. Occasionally, I will edit out objects or signs that I consider distracting, though this is not guaranteed (leave it up to my discretion). I like to smooth skin a little for close-ups. The best way I can describe editing is “your photos with a little makeup on.” If you’re looking for someone to heavily edit your body in post, I’m probably not the photographer for you.

Editing! why does it matter and what do you edit?

Vendor Reviews

Erin arrives early with a smile and is ready for action. She, quite literally, does not miss a shot. Erin captures each and every emotion, all of the big and little moments and everything in between. The colors contained within her photos are dynamic and rich with color. Clients love her and Erin puts them at ease. Need a second shooter? No problem! Erin will bring them too and they'll have the same sweet, calm energy, talent and keen eye that Erin has. Erin comes by the venue ahead of time to suss out the magical areas and their lighting at the specific time of day of the client's event and brings it to spectacular life in her photos. There are a lot of photographers in Los Angeles, but Erin Marton Photography is far and away the best choice - an absolute delight. You won't be sorry and she'll leave you with the most glorious photo memories of your most special day.

Erin was great about getting all the shots that the couple wanted, what she dreamed up, and even the last minute ones I would ask her to ensure she captured details that were important to the couple (and me :P)! She was professional, fun, and prompt (she did amazing keeping to the timeline - again, another favorite from a planner's perspective). Oh, and she had a few sneak peeks of images to share the NEXT DAY and then delivered the full edited album of photos from the day a week a later - an AMAZING turnaround time...AND the images were just perfect. She did such a fantastic job at capturing the details, the moments, and the feels of the day and was also able to combine that with a great mix of candids. I also loved her approach to getting genuine smiles and laughs from the wedding party - I overheard her asking questions to the bridesmaids about who would be most likely to be late or take the longest to get ready - it sparked conversation, but then brought about genuine laughs and real smiles. If you're hiring a photographer and her style is what you're looking for, then look no further and lock her down!

Erin Marton. Where to begin. Erin's soul shines brighter than anyones. As a videographer, working with Erin has been nothing short of stress-free and fun. Erin is the type of person that makes the day THAT much more smooth and seamless. And it's something that is hard to come by, because that's hard to put into practice and learn. But with Erin, it's natural.. she already has it, she doesn't need to learn to be thoughtful and radiant, she just is! Working with photographers can sometimes be difficult if there isn't enough communication on the day, but that is NEVER an issue with Erin. She's so bubbly and personable and so down-to-earth that you automatically feel like one of her close friends. DON'T LOOK ANY FURTHER, HIRE ERIN!

We worked with Erin on a wedding that was recently held at our hotel. She is incredible!! Such a delight to work with from early planning stages through the actual event. Her professionalism and knowledge made for a positive vendor experience. After having seen the pictures from the wedding, which she graciously allowed us to access (and after only a few days!), we can attest that she is an extremely talented photographer. We would highly recommend her to anyone, bride or not!
