Hey friends! If you’re reading this…THANK YOU! I haven’t written a blog post here since before I got married (WHOA!). Even though I haven’t shared much writing publicly this summer, I’ve sure been journaling a whole lot so I can remember every little bit of life in this season.
So…marriage! I cannot believe it has been almost four months since our wedding day. Life with Manoah is the absolute best, and I can’t believe how incredibly fortunate I am to be his wife. I didn’t really have any expectations of what it would be like to live together…I just knew it would be different from anything I’ve ever experienced before! Thankfully, it’s pretty much just having my best friend around all the time who’s always up for more ice cream and cuddling with our little kitten.
Right after we got married, Manoah and I went on an amazing honeymoon to Napa and San Francisco. We ate incredible food, tasted amazing wine, saw beautiful grape vines and views, shopped at our favorite stores…it was perfect! When we came home from our honeymoon, we were in COMPLETE move-in mode to our LA apartment. Moving was NO JOKE and left us completely exhausted, but we were thankful that God provided lots and lots of time to put our home together and adjust to married life. We also brought home our kitten Sam the first day we moved in, so we had a little fur-ball running around and making everything a little more complicated (but definitely more fun!).
Since we’ve moved to Los Angeles, I chopped off all my hair, my work situation has changed, I started really going for some cool business opportunities, we’ve made a few new friends, and Manoah has started law school. It’s a lot of change to experience right at the beginning of marriage, but we are embracing it together! Never before have I felt so encouraged to go through life since I’ve had the most wonderful spouse by my side. Manoah is so supportive, and it helps that he makes me delicious food all the time!
Things are slowly settling down into our new routine, and it’s been so exciting and so humbling to focus on each individual day. Every day, I am still learning to turn my heart towards Jesus and ask for His help. Any time I get discouraged or frustrated because I can’t figure something out, He is there. When we have felt lonely from a lack of community in LA, God has answered prayers and provided much-needed visits from family and friends in Orange County. There is so much love and laughter in our little household, and I’m sooo grateful for it.
At the moment, I’m finding joy in the little things whenever I can! Manoah planted a little garden on our front porch area, and I get to see those little sprouts each morning and evening. We’ve filled our apartment with flowers and plants, so there’s life everywhere in sight! I’m reading a zillion books and listening to alllll the podcasts. My amazing family is just a phone call and short drive away, and I love all the chances to connect with them.
Life these days is so so new. There is still so much to learn and embrace as we both change as people. But wow! So exciting to be young and building a life and career founded on the goals we’ve always had. Progress is being made, no matter how slow!
I’m still catching up with many friends from our wedding, so if you’re reading this and feel like we need to catch up, PLEASE call or text me! I am so grateful for chances to hear from my amazing friends, and it’s always fun to show people around my new hometown. 😉
xx
